Abstract

The present study provides the first information regarding the first record of foraminifera from the genus Leptohalysis sp. from Arakhakuda region of marine influenced outer channel of Chilika Lake. This Genus is already reported from the estuarine system of Odisha and elsewhere. However recent report from Chilka lake provides a new tool to the environmentalist to access the present condition of the lagoon from the scenario of dynamisms associated in the habitat where it was observed.
