Abstract
Crude extracts of Cuscuta reflexa (Cuscutaceae Convolvulaceae) were evaluated for in-vitro anthelmintic activity on the Indian adult earthworms Pheritima posthuma. The extracts of Cuscuta reflexa have shown a dose dependant inhibition of spontaneous motility (Paralysis) of earthworms. It has been observed that all petroleum ether, chloroform and methanol extracts have shown anthelmintic activity, which was compared with albendazole as reference drug. The exact mode of action and the constituents responsible for the anthelmintic activity needs to be investigated.
